I want to share with you a super easy and quick recipe I use to disinfect germ filled surfaces around my home. My favorite places to us this disinfectant spray is in the kitchen on my flat stove top, the front of my appliances as well as on my counter tops after they’ve been wiped off with a wet rag, to remove excessive grime build-up. This spray gives all its touched surfaces a fresh clean and a beautiful shiny look! The smell is also very refreshing!
- 2 Teaspoons Tea Tree oil (I get mine from Trader Joe’s but you can also get it here).
- 1 1/2 Cups Filtered water
- 1 Glass spray bottle
- With a funnel, poor the 2 teaspoons of Tea Tree oil into your glass spray bottle.
- Then pour in your 1 1/2 cups of water into your bottle.
- Place spray cap on top, shake and it’s ready to us!
What is Tea Tree Oil?
Tea Tree Oil is an essential oil filled with antibacterial properties.
Other uses of Tea Tree oil:
“Tea tree oil is applied to the skin (used topically) for infections such as acne, fungal infections of the nail (onychomycosis), lice, scabies, athlete’s foot (tinea pedis), and ringworm. It is also used topically as a local antiseptic for cuts and abrasions, for burns, insect bites and stings, boils, vaginal infections, recurrent herpes labialis, toothache, infections of the mouth and nose, sore throat, and for ear infections such as otitis media and otitis externa.
Some people add it to bath water to treat cough, bronchial congestion, and pulmonary inflammation” (WebMD).
Why I use Tea Tree oil instead of other disinfectant spays?
I love Tea Tree oil because it is natural. It is okay to breath in since it is not packed filled with chemicals. And I feel safer letting us eat off of the surfaces that I just sprayed, knowing that our food didn’t just come in contact with a bunch of unknown chemicals.
